The Gurus Are Misleading Us

“Experts” make finding happiness sound so easy but they don’t tell you how to get there. Even worse, they mislead their followers.

Sure they speak or write well but they keep things abstract and vague — perhaps on purpose. “Perfection is within you…”(Gilbert), “…at the deepest level” (Tolle), and “…carry in our hearts” (Brown).

There are three common denominators in their supposed wisdom:

  1. Spiritual bypassing - the use of spiritual concepts to shirk the actual developmental work.

  2. Oversimplification - they simplify enlightenment and self-discovery without providing a blueprint.

  3. No citations - Lack of scholarly rigor and academic research.

Folks like you and me want the playbook. We want to know how to get there and not what it feels like once you’re there. That's exactly what I provide in my book.
