Photos from Papua New Guinea
I just returned from two weeks in Papua New Guinea. We spent time on the Sepik River, in Goroka, Madang, Mt. Hagen and Tari. It was as undeveloped and poor as the countries in sub-saharan Africa, where most people don’t have shoes and live off of about a dollar a day. There are no restaurants or bars and tourists must remain within the confines of their hotels at night. Despite the poverty, most of the people there are warm and friendly, eager to share their culture and pose for a picture.
